Miramar/Pembroke Pines Scholarship Application Information
Eligibility
Applicant must be a high school senior residing in or attending school in the City of Miramar or the City of Pembroke Pines.
Criteria
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of eligibility, scholastic achievement, and involvement in school and community activities.
Process/Timeline
Applications must be submitted online by the deadline date at 5:00 PM. No exceptions will be made to this deadline. Semi-finalists selected after the first qualifying round will be contacted by phone to arrange for a personal interview with members of the selection committee.
Application
Applications must be submitted using our online form only, and document file names must include your first and last name. You must have all necessary documents ready to upload with your application, including evidence of your current weighted GPA (your last report card), a copyt of your SAT and/or ACT scores, recommendation letters, and your personal statement.
Recommendations
Your application must include two written recommendations from persons not related to you. We prefer that at least one be from a teacher or counselor at your school. Each of the written recommendations should include the individual's name, his/her signature, occupation, and relationship to you.
Personal Statement
In a personal statement, describe your educational and career goals, your extra curricular activities, awards, and other pertinent information about yourself. Discuss how being awarded this scholarship will impact your future education. Your statement should be a maximum of 500 words.
Interview
You will be contacted by a member of the scholarship committee if your application is accepted into the interview round. You will be interviewed by several members of the business community. Please remember to dress appropriately for your interview.
